RefWorks update - Refworks is available again, but you may have to re-associate your account with your email address

We're pleased to report that RefWorks have fixed the problem. The first time you log in again you may be asked to enter your email address (your UoB email address, ending @study.beds.ac.uk)

You will then get an email from RefWorks with a link to click. Once you've done this, you should be able to access RefWorks as usual. If you have any problems, let us know.

Legacy RefWorks is being retired

The Legacy (old) version of RefWorks will no longer be available from 1st September 2022.  If you are using this version, you must upgrade your account to the newest version of RefWorks, or you will lose your references.  To do this, you can click on the Upgrade button in your RefWorks account:

Follow the on-screen instructions to copy your references to the newest version of RefWorks.  You can find more information here.

If you are not sure which version you are on, look at the logo at the top left of the screen. If it looks like this

you are already using new RefWorks and do not need to do anything.

If it looks like this

you are using the old version and will need to upgrade your account.

If you have any problems upgrading your account, please contact us for help.

New RefWorks and Legacy RefWorks - change in terminology

Since we introduced the new version of RefWorks in 2017, we have been calling it "New RefWorks", and the previous version Old RefWorks, or just RefWorks. We have now decided to make it more clear that the new version is our default, and the old version just for people who have been using it a long time and don't want to switch. Therefore, we will now be referring to the new version as "RefWorks", and the old version as "Legacy RefWorks", both on the library catalogue and our website.

If you are unsure which you are using, this is the current version:

and this is the Legacy version:

"Which version of RefWorks would you like to export to?"

RefWorks is currently available in two versions - new RefWorks and old ("legacy") RefWorks. University of Bedfordshire has not yet switched over to the new version, so if you are trying to get into RefWorks and you get the choice, choose the legacy RefWorks option (with the orange logo).

When we do make the change, we will let you know!
