EndNote / RefWorks clash - EndNote taking over your PC

We've found that with the latest version of EndNote installed on your PC, when you export from a database by opening up a text file (e.g. for IEEE, Cochrane Library etc) EndNote will automatically open and import the reference.

There doesn't seem to be a way to stop this (aside from uninstalling EndNote), so just accept that references where you need to open up a text file will go into EndNote first.

The way to get around this is to make sure you save the file to your desktop, then go into Refworks and import the file as you normally would.
